Moore Dam Campsite to Howard Island Campsite

Nice start this morning with good paddling. Went though 3 portages, Comfort Dam, McIndoe Falls Dam and Ryegate Dam, all 3 are hydroelectric dams. Portages were strenuous and took well over an hour each. Went through the “Narrows” today – a narrow stretch where the Ammonoosuc River enters the CT River and has crazy currents that can turn your boat around – needed strong paddling, but was exciting!
